Let me in

Let me in

Old doors in France - I like them, they have style and you never know what you will find behind them. Sometime they open onto a lovely garden courtyard or directly into a home. It is tantalising at times to know what lies behind the door.

This fine fellow was waiting to see when he was going to be let in.

Photographed in Lavaur, Tarn.

I always imagined a beautiful cobbled stone garden/yard behind these doors. There is a long wooden table with garlic roast chicken, roasted baby potatoes, cheese and bread, salad, wine, lemonaede and lots of friends and family. And everyone is enjoying a nice day outdoors. :-)

I'll never forget the first time I entered a "front door" and entered a true jardin! I wondered why everyone spent so much of those 2 days indoors? I wanted to be outside...we were in the middle of the city and I felt like we were so seculded. It was like walking into a different world...

Thanks for bringing back memories!
