Hare Today

Lisi mentioned yesterday about meeting the neighbors. Well in fact our closest neighbors are the animals that wander through the garden or in the fields around about. So here is Hare Today Gone………… yes I know terrible joke.

It’s my wife who has all the names of these lovely creatures and Mr Hare’s name I have forgotten but I will find out later today. He is called Jeannot!

He or she has also raised a family close by and last evening as I was watching Gorgeous George a young hare hopped by. As I was standing so still he did not even notice me, or perhaps though I was a tree or something!

How lucky for you to catch sight of such a noble hare. I don't think we have any such creatures on my island

once again...I like the names! Your wife is good with picking names. My neighbor`s name is "nosy Freek". Unfortunately, he is human, and he is into everybody`s business :-) from there his name.....

Bonjour,

Il est agréable de constater que les lapins s'approchent encore des maisons. Vous avez beaucoup de chance de pouvoir vivre à la campagne et observer tous les visiteurs qui passent devant votre porte...

Amitiés,

Didier

I know he's a hare, not a rabbit, but even so this shot immediately brought into my mind the charming description at the beginning of Lettres de mon Moulin of the rabbits who'd taken up residence in the abandoned windmill, making it "un quartier général, un centre d'opérations stratégiques ... ."
