Poppy - Coquelicot

From all the greenness of the countryside the splashes of red make an attractive distraction.

Fields of poppies or a few by the roadside are always welcome.

J’ai descendu dans mon jardin
Pour y cueillir du romarin,
Gentil coquelicot Mesdames
Gentil coquelicot Messieurs

Vieille chanson française.

Ahhh... so pretty. I loved finding them in a corn field when I was last in France. They are so insanely red. I love it!

its interesting that you call them poppies too - I thought that it was a very typical afrikaans word -

Hi Wilf!

LOVE your shots!!!

Simple, timeless beauty! Sigh....all my virtual "touring" makes me want to hop the next plane and visit in person!

But alas...I can't go everywhere...thank goodness for DP!

Have an awesome day!
